May 6, 1950 to 1962

 
 
On May 6, 1950 Benny Binion opened the Westerner. It was just west of the Pioneer Club on the site of the former Las Vegas Club which had moved down Fremont Street.
 
Paul D Coles was approved to buy
25% of the Westerner Club on May 5, 1960
 
 
 
 
 
In 1962 the Westerner became Club Bingo.

This Guide to Gaming and Good Times from 1957 has more information than most gaming guides from the period.  
 
 
 
It includes other points of interest around the Las Vegas area and doesn't concentrate on only the entertainment available at The Westerner. 
 
 
They even gave you a space to take notes on your Las Vegas experience! 
Although this guide was given away by the Westerner it explores other entertainemnt options in the area. Even touting the competition on the strip! 
 
The more fun people have the better the odds that they will return.
